The hyaluronic acid is a substance which is specific to the human body. The injectable synthesizer is obtained in the laboratory, it is biodegradable and looks like a clear, transparent gel.
The gel is injected under the wrinkle, in small quantities, by way of a fine needle, improving its appearance.
What can be treated by hyaluronic acid?
It may be used for wrinkles/folds, lip augmentation, the correction of facial contours. The areas which are most commonly treated by the hyaluronic acid are the glabella area (between the brows), the nasal labial folds and the lips. Extremely superficial or profound wrinkles may be difficult to treat.
How long does it take?
The treatment is simple and fast and the effect can be seen immediately. It is not necessary to undergo a prior testing. Generally, the treatment takes about 30 minutes, but this depends on the correction operation that you want.
The results are long lasting but they are not permanent. The duration of the effect varies from each individual and is dependent on several factors (age, type of skin, injecting area, life style, muscular activity, the technique which is used).
Generally, the effect is maintained for 1 year, in the case of wrinkles, and for 6 months-1 year, in the case of lips.
Secondary effects
It is possible to have a slight erythema, edema, a feeling of tension or local itching.
The unpleasant feeling is only temporary and it generally ceases in a few days.
What do I have to do after the treatment?
Do not rub the treated area within the first 48 hours. After the rose tint and the initial edema are no longer a problem, avoid being exposed to intense heat or to cold conditions.
